BACKGROUND ON THE RECENT
QLG MEETING PARTICIPATION RESOLUTION

 

The QLG adopted a resolution at its March 30, 1999 meeting to authorize the Pilot Project Consultation Committee to limit participation to QLG Steering Committee members and invited individuals. This action was in response to attendance by a representative of the Sierra Nevada Forest Protection Campaign and subsequent representations made to Congress about discussions of the Committee.

QLG Resolution

"The Pilot Project Consultation Committee is authorized to limit attendance to steering committee members and invited individuals."

In full context of the presentation and discussion it was clearly understood that:

1. This is an authorization, not a requirement.

2. It could apply to part of a committee meeting, not necessarily the whole meeting.

3. Regular QLG meetings will remain open to all persons.
